As part of our commitment to providing the best educational opportunities for staff and students across Hackney and Tower Hamlets, Mulberry School for Girls (lead school for the East London Teaching School Hub) has developed the Fetch me a Pen programme. The aim of the programme is to improve the teaching of academic writing across all subjects in secondary school settings.
The programme equips secondary students and staff with stronger literacy capabilities with the aim of improving students’ overall written communication, and helping them share their voice. The programme provides schools with a range of different tried-and-tested techniques so they can improve students’ academic writing straight away.
The Fetch Me a Pen programme is designed as a collaborative project, where different departments and even different schools work together to share good practice and create a culture that encourages students to improve their writing.
